Test Shots

We decided to visit some of our locations in order to test out different angles we can shoot at when the time comes to film. This has also helped us to make our storyboard more accurate and will make filming quicker as we will know where to film from.

In this location our protagonist will be looking at a pregnancy test. We decided to try and get a test shot from a high angle over the toilet cubicle as we felt this looked more exciting than a plain mid-shot. we much prefer the canted angle and will therefore use this when filming.

We then moved to different toilets where we will film another toilet scene in which photos of the protagonist will be taped up everywhere over the walls and mirrors. When in the location we wanted to get a photo of the girl looking in the mirror however we needed to ensure the camera was not in view from any of the mirrors, this test shot has meant we know where to stand when filming and know that the shot we wanted is going to work.

We also want a high angle shot of the girl walking into a packed canteen, we took this photo from the floor above the canteen and like the angle however before we film we will have to experiment with different lighting so theres no glare from the windows as this looks unprofessional and makes the scene difficult to see.

In our trailer we want to shoot in school corridprs for quite a few scenes so we went to a few different corridors in our school to see what they would be like to shoot in. We found that the corridor above looks good however the lightimg is quite poor meaning if we did decide to shoot there we would need to bring some artificial lighting meaning we would have to do some shooting after school times in order to set up and film without disruptions therefore we have decided to consider some other locations as well.
